The first signs of closure of shopping malls in the US
The US trade crisis has led to the closure of more than 8,600 chain stores and dozens of shopping centers.
Only in 2017 did the major brands close more than 3,500 stores across the country. Major US retailers have already found a resonsible “AMAZON” and the rest of online stores that offer cheap prices and a product return policy difficult to improve.
WHAT’S COMING IN SPAIN
Shopping malls in Spain are also facing commercial difficulties. Zara is one of them that leaves the commercial centers to concentrate large macro stores in the centers of the cities, a bet that is more profitable. It is the same strategy adopted by Mango, which has just opened its flagship on the central Serrano street in Madrid.
Shopping malls cut rents and make offers to large supermarket chains and brands that attract audiences like Inditex, but it is increasingly difficult to fill their large aisles unless new deals come up.
